We completed the Critical Thinking Wheel and started the reading of "Pencil Crayons". Please finish reading the story for tomorrow and be prepared to discuss the ending.

Charting comparing and contrasting ideas turned out to be a disaster! We will move on tomorrow. "At the Wedding" is now overdue and will result in a noon hour in my classroom if you want a mark.

The library is a difficult place in which to stayed focused. But, it is a change of rooms and gives me a look at your ability to work independently. Final copy of the homeless essay is due tomorrow.

-Do any three in paragraphy format. (#2- no paragraph)

I will extend the deadline for the essay as there are no computers available tomorrow! :(

Read the"The Open Window" for tomorrow. Be prepared to talk or write about the story.

What is happening on Friday? 1. Hand in storm words chart .
2. Pop quiz on "The Painted Door" - You may bring in a cheat
sheet or outline of events to use during the quiz.
3. The draft of your speech must be completed and ready to type
or revise.
4. The outline of the speech must be completed by the end of
class. (10 marks)

Remember: Tomorrow is early dismissal so there are no afternoon classes. Enjoy you time away from here to get caught up.

I hope everyone had a good weekend and is ready to go. The curriculum is large in ELA and the time is limited. I will try to accomodate your needs but...if I give you a work period the expectation is that YOU will work. Keep you mind on the task before you.

The Canadian paragraphs needed some tweeking but overall, the first attempts were a good start to your assignments. Many students need the best possible mark in this class to get into post secondary. Please do not be the student who interrupts the class with inappropriate behaviour. Thank you. The draft for the speech is due at the beginning of tomorrow's class.

Your mini-portfolio is now due. We are working on the RAFTS from the poem At the Wedding. Remember also, if you did not present your anecdote this week you are up for presenting on Tuesday.

Working on the theme of RECOLLECTIONS, we are constructing a mini-portfolio to get us thinking about our lives so far. Tomorrrow we will share a quick anecdote of our lives. The mini-portfolio is due tomorrow if you can - Friday for sure.
